Morgondagens Tonsättare - Helsingborg Symfoniorkester

One of Helsingborg Concert Hall's most important collaborative projects is between the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Academy of Music.

In addition to the school's orchestra playing regularly in our concert hall, we also have a strong link to the composition programme, where the composers of tomorrow are trained and educated. Together with the musicians of the HSO, the composition students get to chisel out the music that the students have been working on during their studies.

During the project week, the students will experience how the collaboration with the orchestra and the conductor works in practice, and the final result will be heard by all at a final concert where the music of the composers of tomorrow will be heard in the Great Hall.

Framtidens Tonsättare - Musica Vitae (Kungliga Musikhögskolan)

  • Kungssalen - Kungliga Musikhögskolan (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

After more than a quarter of a century of being involved in Musica Vitae's composition projects, it's still just as exciting every time. Started in 1996, it was the first of its kind and has since been followed by many other music institutions in the country.

Each year, two student composers from the country's three largest music academies are invited to write directly for the Musica Vitae ensemble. More than 150 new works have reached the curious ears of the public for the first time, and several of the then young composition students are now established and frequently performed composers. It is not without a certain sense of pride we can hear and read about "our" students' successes on both Swedish and foreign concert stages.

Conductor Michael Bartosch can be called the project's permanent conductor and instructor. Michael, who has been with us all but the first year, is a force as important to us as the project is to the music world.
